What a lovely surprise to receive a copy of the delightful children’s book – A Little Owl Called Hooty for review at mummymusthaves.
The book “A Little Owl Called Hooty”, written by Diana C Vickery and illustrated by Danny Deeptown is a lovely story about an owl that is too afraid to fly, until her friends come up with a helping plan. It’s a nice rhythmic short story for Toddlers with little attention span.
I read it to my 4 year old son and we could talk about having fears, being too scared of trying new things and the importance of friends. It was a good way to start a conversation about feelings and having examples to show instead of just talking about abstract feelings makes it much easier. He was able to share with me some of his thoughts and insights.
The graphics are delightful with lots to look at on each page. It is also the first in a collectible series so we are looking forward to seeing what comes next!
Overall the book is very cute, easy to read and understand. It would make a great gift too. The pages are easily wiped clean and tough and thick so can take a bit of a beating (a must for toddlers and bubs)
